THE BATTLEFORDS - Road driving conditions across the province have deteriorated throughout the day as a major winter storm hits Saskatchewan.

Highway Hotline has posted "travel not recommended" warnings on roads throughout the province. These are the conditions as of 5:30 p.m., with travel not recommended on Highway 16 east or west of the Battlefords.

The same warning extends to part of Highway 11. However, the portion of Highway 11 from Aylesbury south to Regina is closed due to the weather conditions. Several highways around Regina and Moose Jaw have been closed to traffic completely due to the blizzard conditions seen there.

Check with Highway Hotline for further updates on driving conditions in the province.
