A preliminary hearing for a man accused of killing Preston Thomas last year didn’t proceed March 19 in Saskatoon Provincial Court.
Joel Yuzicapi, 28, is charged with second-degree murder. The matter is now set for case management on April 16. Case management is settlement discussions between the Crown and defence before a judge.
Saskatoon Police say they found Thomas’ body in a hotel on Airport Drive in Saskatoon on Aug. 1, 2020. They say the victim and the accused were known to each other.

Thomas’ mother Lillian Thomas made a rose to honour her son and takes it with her to Yuzicapi’s scheduled court appearances.
