SASKATOON - Update: The Saskatoon Police Service Collision Analyst Unit is investigating a fatal collision that occurred Monday evening.
On Sept. 16 at approximately 7:20 p.m., police were called to Highway 5 and Highway 41 for a report of a motor vehicle collision involving injuries. Initial information stated it was a two-vehicle collision involving a truck and an SUV.
Upon arrival, officers attended to the female driver of the SUV who appeared to be suffering from life-threatening injuries. Officers extracted the driver from the vehicle and CPR was conducted while waiting for paramedics to arrive. The 54-year-old woman was then transported to hospital where she was later pronounced deceased.
Officers also spoke with the driver of the truck who was suffering from non-life-threatening injuries. He did not wish to receive any further medical care.
The Collision Analyst Unit is continuing to investigate the circumstances of this collision.
