RCMP are investigating after a man was found unconscious in a camper on Onion Lake Cree Nation July 1. He died from his injuries July 3 in a Saskatoon hospital

ONION LAKE – RCMP are investigating the circumstances of the death of a man who was found unconscious in a camper next to a home on Onion Lake Cree Nation July 1.

Police say they found a 46-year-old man seriously injured. He was taken by EMS to Lloydminster hospital and then transported by STARS to a Saskatoon hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police say their preliminary investigation has determined that the man was the victim of an assault. He died in hospital July 3.

Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crime Unit, Onion Lake RCMP, North Battleford General Investigation Section and Forensic Identification Services, and Lloydminster RCMP Police Dog Services have been involved in the investigation.
