HUMBOLDT — A part of Highway 5 within Humboldt will be closed to traffic starting Thursday.
Starting Thursday, Oct. 7, the part of the thoroughfare between Fourth Street and Seventh Street will be closed for repaving. The highway was dug up earlier this year so the City of Humboldt could replace water mains.
Those heading west can take Second Street south, follow it as it turns into Fifth Avenue heading west, and then head north on Main Street until they reach the highway and continue west. The opposite is true for those heading east.
The city said they expect the highway to be closed for two days.
