An Onion Lake woman arrested by Alberta RCMP in a huge drug bust was released on bail.
Bianca Lasas, 20, and Courtlin Littlewolfe, 34, also from Onion Lake Cree Nation, were arrested by Lloydminster, Alta., RCMP on Jan. 10, 2021, after a pursuit.
According to Lloydminster RCMP, an officer saw a suspicious vehicle with no license plate in the area of 50 St. and 57 Ave at about 4 a.m. on Jan. 10, 2021. The officer tried to stop the vehicle but the driver sped away. Police pursued the vehicle, which eventually lost control on an icy road and smashed into a median and became undriveable.
Littlewolfe allegedly left the vehicle and Lasas behind and fled on foot.
Police arrested Lasas at the scene and searched the vehicle. They seized more than $47,000 in drugs in the vehicle, including methamphetamine, cocaine, and heroin. They also found more than $8,000 in Canadian currency, a handgun, ammunition, a knife, and red paisley bandanas generally worn by Westside Outlaws street gang based out of Onion Lake Cree Nation.Â
RCMP arrested Littlewolfe a week later in Onion Lake.
Littlewofe and Lasas are facing 31 charges combined, including six counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of a restricted firearm, unsafe storage of a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, obstruction of a peace officer, identity fraud, flight from police, dangerous operation of a vehicle and driving while prohibited.
The charges against Lasas and Littlewolfe haven’t been proven in court.
Lasas was released on bail at her Jan. 19 Lloydminster Alberta Provincial Court appearance. She is scheduled to enter a plea on Feb. 2
Littlwolfe had another court appearance on Jan. 26 and remains in custody. He is scheduled to appear in Lloydminster Alberta Provincial Court on Feb. 2, also to enter a plea.
