One woman dead after Tuesday crash in Saskatoon

Saskatoon Police Major Crimes Unit (MCU) and Collision Analyst Unit (CAU) continue to investigate a crash between a truck and an SUV at Quebec Avenue near 39th Street East.

SASKATOON — A 22-year-old woman died after a truck travelling at a high rate of speed collided with an SUV Tuesday at about 6:10 p.m. at Quebec Avenue near 39th Street East.

As a result of investigation by the Saskatoon Police Major Crimes Unit (MCU) and Collision Analyst Unit (CAU), the 23-year-old male driver of the truck was arrested and is facing three charges of dangerous driving causing bodily harm and dangerous driving causing death.

The four occupants of the SUV were transported to hospital in critical condition and a 22-year-old woman passenger succumbed to her injuries.

Police say impairment was not a factor in this collision and the investigation continues.
