One big project leads July building permits in North Battleford

Bulk of permit values due to John Paul II Collegiate renovation at $14.2 million.

NORTH BATTLEFORD — One big project was responsible for an increase in building permit values in July in North Battleford.

At Monday's council meeting, Assistant Director of Corporate Services Ryan Mackrell presented the latest building permit statistics report. He reported four permits were issued for $14,301,500 in July, compared to 10for $8,356,400 for the same month in 2021.

One of the new permits was an institutional alteration valued at $14.2 million. Mackrell said that was the John Paul II Collegiate renovation project, which is now underway.

Also included was $95,000 for a new commercial building, which is an addition for Splish Splash Car Wash.

Overall the city has issued 58 permits for $34,771,800 through July, compared to 61 permits for $17,877,000 for the same period in 2021.
