NORTH BATTLEFORD — The City of North Battleford says due to the significant snowfall received, snow removal will be ongoing for the rest of Thursday.
The city’s director of protective services, Lindsay Holm, says roads are still not recommended for travel unless necessary and community safety officers have been dispatched all morning to assist with traffic accidents and vehicles that have become stuck.
Residents and businesses are reminded they are responsible for clearing the snow on sidewalks and walkways adjacent to their respective properties within 24 hours in downtown North Battleford and 48 hours in areas outside of downtown.
Community safety officers request that the general public not shovel or move snow from their sidewalks/walkways onto city streets, because this impacts street-cleaning efforts.
The airport in North Battleford is also currently closed for incoming or departing flights due to icy runway conditions.
The city has been advised by Battlefords Transit Services that their buses, including the Handi-Bus Accessible Transit Service, are not operating Thursday due to the road conditions.
For any resident or business questions relating to snow, sanding, and or ice, the city encourages the use of their service tracker (Service Requests) at .
