Steven Brown, Director of Finance in the City of North Battleford, has been unanimously selected by La Ronge town council as their new chief administrative officer at the town office.
Mayor Colin Ratushniak said they knew when hiring for this position was going to be inheriting a bit of a mess financially and structurally, he said, but Brown is coming into La Ronge with a wealth of experience and a history of integrating into his new communities.
鈥淗is experience working with different municipal levels of government, his financial backgrounds, and his overall approach with how he wants to integrate with the community, not only as an employee but also just on a personal level, is really important.鈥�
Due to some outside consultation, a lot of work needs to be done to ensure the CAO position is one where people can succeed instead of fail, Ratushniak said. Even during Brown鈥檚 interview, Ratushniak said they were excited for him to come on board.
鈥淗e wants to have that communication with all his managers and his employees.鈥�
Brown is currently working as the director of cinance for the City of North Battleford and has nine years of senior management experience in Humboldt, Prince Albert and the provincial government.
