Nipawin RCMP traffic stop leads to arrest and charges

On June 29, 2021 at approximately 1:30 p.m., a Combined Traffic Services Saskatchewan police officer attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding on Highway #55 near Foxford. The vehicle failed to stop. Police determined the vehicle was stolen.

Chastitie Kakakaway, 31, of Prince Albert and Angelique Felix, 19, of Sturgeon Lake First Nation were arrested and charged following a traffic stop.

On June 29, 2021 at approximately 1:30 p.m., a Combined Traffic Services Saskatchewan police officer attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding on Highway #55 near Foxford. The vehicle failed to stop.

Police determined the vehicle was stolen. Nipawin RCMP officers made attempts to locate the vehicle. The vehicle was later located abandoned in Nipawin. Two women were located and arrested nearby.

Chastitie Kakakaway, 31, of Prince Albert and Angelique Felix, 19, of Sturgeon Lake First Nation were arrested.

Kakakaway is charged with dangerous driving, flight from police, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon of a dangerous purpose, possession of property obtained by crime more than $5,000, and possession of a prohibited weapon.

Fox was charged with possession of property obtained by crime more than $5,000.

 They will appear in Nipawin Provincial Court on August 25.
