A North Battleford man had another appearance scheduled in La Ronge Provincial Court but the matter was adjourned.

On Dec. 21, Brandon Holmes, 27, was expected to elect how he wants to be tried. He is now scheduled to appear in La Ronge Provincial Court on Jan. 11, 2021, via CCTV to enter an election. He is charged with discharging a firearm with intent, carrying a concealed weapon, assault, and two counts of break and enter.

Stanley Mission RCMP arrested Holmes in October. They found him hiding in a cabin a few kilometres from the community after police say he stole a boat to flee the area. RCMP got a call at about 2:30 a.m. on Oct. 5 that an armed man was in a residence. By the time police arrived the suspect – later identified as Holmes – fled.

Holmes was denied bail in November.
