NORTH BATTLEFORD — At their meeting Tuesday, North Battleford council voted in favour of extending their residential waste collection, facility waste and recycling collection and residential recycling collection contracts.
The agreements are with Loraas Environmental Services and are being extended to Dec. 31, 2024. The residential and the facilities contracts currently expire Dec. 31, 2022 while residential recycling runs to April 30, 2024.
The thinking from administration is to have all three contracts align to the same expiry date, to encourage greater efficiency.
No budget issues are expected, as the current contract increases with the provincial consumer price index and this increase is accounted for in the annual budget.
Council voted unanimously in favour of the resolution extending the contracts.
