More sexual assault charges laid against Cecil Wolfe

SASKATOON - A 60-year-old man already facing multiple sexual assault charges has been charged with another in an ongoing investigation.

This is the seventh charge against Cecil Wolfe laid in RCMP jurisdiction related to this ongoing investigation. Saskatoon Police Service has charged Wolfe with four counts of sexual assault, for a total of 11 charges to date.

He was arrested March 5 and will appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court on March 9.

RCMP continue to collaborate with the Saskatoon Police Service’s Sex Crime Unit.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims from over the past 20 years in the communities of Loon Lake, Blaine Lake, Muskeg Lake Cree Nation, Saskatoon and surrounding areas. Victims report Cecil Wolfe was working under the pretext of being a traditional healer or medicine man when they encountered him.

Victims are encouraged to contact their local police service if they have information to share.

On Sept. 21, 2021, the Saskatoon Police Sex Crimes Unit issued a media release announcing a charge of sexual assault against Cecil Wolfe. Investigators were concerned there may be other victims and asked anyone with information to contact police.

As a result of further victims coming forward since September, Saskatoon RCMP General Investigation Section collaborated with SPS Sex Crimes Unit as offences are reported to have occurred in Saskatchewan RCMP jurisdiction.

The charges against Wolfe haven’t been proven in court.
