An applied electrical program is the latest venture for The Ridge - MGBHLM Economic Development. THE BATTLEFORDS - Mosquito Grizzly Bear’s Head Lean Man First Nation has announced even more educational offerings through its economic development branch.

The Ridge - MGBHLM Economic Development announced in a Facebook post last week that it will be hosting a 22-week applied electrical program.

It will provide training, certification and employment opportunities in the trades Twelve seats are being offered with six of them guaranteed to MGBHLM band members.

The program is the result of an application to the Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission. That was approved, with MGBHLM being the first First Nation to be so awarded according to their Facebook post.

In just a couple of years, The Ridge - MGBHLM Economic Development has built up a wide portfolio of business, training and wellness ventures. It includes the All Nations Training Employment and Career Centre, The Ridge Wellness Centre, 3 Nations Cattle Co., 3 Nations Gas Bar, MGBHLM Security, MGBHLM Construction, Friends of The Ridg and, most recently, a minority stake in Comfort Inn in North Battleford.
