On Friday, May 28, a 65-year-old male and a 73-year-old male travelled to the Porcupine Forest north of Kamsack. At 9:42 p.m. the wife of one of those males received a text message that their ATV had broken down and they were trying to return on foot. At approximately 1:30 a.m., Fort Qu鈥橝ppelle and Kamsack RCMP were called for assistance in locating them.

RCMP officers, along with Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment Conservation Officers, Duck Mountain Ambulance Care Norquay Division and local volunteers aided in search efforts. The men were located at approximately 12:15 p.m. The men were healthy, but tired.

鈥淚t was a happy moment when these men were found safe, and were able to head straight home,鈥 says Kamsack RCMP S/Sgt. Noel Allard. 鈥淚t was the ending everyone involved in this search effort was hoping for. I鈥檓 pleased we were able to gather search resources so quickly, and thank our community partners for their efforts.鈥
