Man sent to hospital following shooting in Saskatoon

Officers located a 46-year-old man suffering from what was believed to be a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

SASKATOON - One man was sent to hospital following a shooting in Saskatoon.

At around 11:30 p.m. on Aug. 21, police responded to the 100 block of Avenue Q Â鶹ÊÓƵ for a report of an injured person.

Upon arrival, officers located a 46-year-old man suffering from what was believed to be a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

The victim reported to police that he had been outside an apartment building in the 1700 block of 22nd Street West when two unknown men approached him. Following a brief confrontation with the men, the victim was shot, and the suspects fled the scene.

The victim then went to an address in the 100 block of Avenue Q Â鶹ÊÓƵ where emergency services were called.

He was transported to hospital by paramedics for treatment of his injuries.

The Serious Assault Unit officers are continuing to investigate.
