Man facing charges following weapons complaint in Saskatoon

It is believed the man used a pen as a weapon.

SASKATOON - A man is facing charges following a weapons complaint in Saskatoon.

On Sept. 3 at around 1:50 p.m. police were called to 20th Street West and Avenue A Â鶹ÊÓƵ for a report that a man that was yelling at people and was in possession of a knife.

Upon arrival, officers located a man matching the description of the suspect; the man resisted arrest, but was eventually taken into custody. Upon search of his person, several pens were located.

Upon further investigation, it is believed the man used a pen as a weapon.

The victim and suspect were not known to each other.

As a result, a 38-year-old man is facing charges relating to assault with a weapon, uttering threats, and resisting arrest.
