SASKATOON - A 26-year-old man is facing multiple charges after an attempted robbery Tuesday night in Saskatoon.
Around 5 p.m. on Oct. 1, police received a report of a man carrying a machete and stealing items from a store in the 400 block of Confederation Drive.
Arriving officers quickly located the suspect; however, he evaded police and ran across multiple lanes of traffic while carrying the machete.
A Conducted Energy Weapon (CEW) was deployed by an officer, causing the man to drop the machete.
He was arrested without further incident and has been charged with robbery, carrying a concealed weapon, and breaching court-imposed conditions.
