PRINCE ALBERT – A 71-year-old man accused of assaulting a woman at a Prince Albert store for not following COVID directional signs in a store has been referred to alternative measures, which is a type of restorative justice.
Darryl E. Gray was charged with assault following an incident on Feb. 1. According to Prince Albert Police, shortly before 2 p.m., a woman reported that a man pushed her and punched her several times in the head before staff intervened. He accused her of not following the directional signs inside a Prince Albert store.
Police released a photo of the man from the surveillance footage and asked the public’s help to identify him. Less than two weeks later police identified him with the public’s help.
Gray appeared in Prince Albert Provincial Court on March 23 and the matter was referred to alternative measures and adjourned to June 29.
