PRINCE ALBERT - A 53-year-old man was taken to hospital with injuries to his head and hands from a machete and a 16-year-old youth has been charged with aggravated assault.
Prince Albert Police say that officers were called to a reported assault at a residence in the 100 Block of 11th Street West just after midnight Monday. They say more charges are pending against the youth.
Two weapons complaints
Police were dispatched to the 200 Block of 10th Street East just after 4 p.m. Saturday for a report of a man who had been shot. When police arrived they found a man with a gun shot wound to his leg. He was taken to hospital by Parkland Ambulance in stable condition. Police continue to investigate this incident. Police also responded to a report of a weapons complaint Tuesday morning after a man reported he had been threatened by another man with a knife. Officers located the suspect in the Unit Block of 14th Street East and he was arrested at the scene. A 42-year-old man is charged with possession of a dangerous weapon in relation to this incident.
Robbery with firearms
At approximately 2 p.m. Sunday, police were called to the 200 Block of 15th Street west in connection with a report of a robbery. The complainant reported a vehicle being stolen by two occupants with a gun.
The occupants attempted to flee but were located in the area around 6th Avenue and 28th Street West soon after. A 27-year-old woman from Â鶹ÊÓƵend, is facing charges including robbery with a firearm and dangerous driving in relation to this incident. An arrest warrant has also been issued for a 31-year-old man.
Assault with a weapon
A 17-year-old youth is facing charges of assault with weapon and breach of a court order following an incident in the 2600 Block of Central Avenue early Saturday morning. Just after midnight, a woman reported she was approached by someone who threatened her with a knife and bear spray, and physically assaulted her. He then fled the area. When police arrived they found a suspect matching the description at a nearby residence and he was arrested.
