Male youth facing charges following robbery at Saskatoon business

Report said two youth brandished a knife during the robbery.

A youth male youth is facing multiple charges following a robbery in Saskatoon.  

Shortly before 3 p.m. on Aug. 13, police received a report of a robbery in progress at a store in the 2900 block of 8th Street East. Further information provided stated two youth brandished a knife during the robbery. 

After arriving, officers quickly located and arrested one of the youths and placed him under arrest. After searching him, police located a prohibited knife along with alcohol believed to be from the store. 

Police searched the area for the second suspect; however, did not find him. A passerby informed officers the second suspect dropped a backpack; police located the backpack and found items inside believed to be from the store.

As a result, a 13-year-old male youth has been charged with robbery and possessing a prohibited weapon. The youth was also arrested on outstanding warrants. He made his first appearance in court Aug. 14.
