The Historic Battleford Lions Club has raised $10,000 from its first "Men's Comedy Night Out" event to go to the Credit Union CUPlex building fund.
According to a CUPlex fundraising media release, the event was so successful that Bill Volk of the Lions Club says the club has decided to make the Comedy Night an annual event.
The organizers thanked the numerours local for their help in making it a successful event this year.
The fundraising contributions from the comedy night continues the momentum for CUPlex fundraising within the community. According to updated figures listed at their website www.raisetheroofbattlefords.com, the current funds raised for the project now total $7.8 million dollars.
