The Green nomination brings the total to six candidates running in the Battlefords-Lloydminster

THE BATTLEFORDS-LLOYDMINSTER - The Green Party of Canada has announced they are running a candidate in Battlefords-Lloydminster.

The party has confirmed that Kerri Wall is the candidate running under their banner in the upcoming federal election on Sept. 20.

Wall is one of 14 Green candidates confirmed to be running federally in Saskatchewan, according to the Greens' provincial party website. She is originally from Saskatoon but has resided in British Columbia in recent years; she ran in Prince Albert in the last federal election and also ran provincially in last year's B.C. election.

The Greens released their list of Saskatchewan candidates last week. They plan to run a full slate in Saskatchewan, 12 of whom had run provincially.

That brings to six the number of candidates running in Battlefords-Lloydminster. Four candidates have already filed their nomination papers with Elections Canada to be on the ballot, and they are incumbent Rosemarie Falk (Conservative), Larry Ingram (Liberal), Erik Hansen (New Democratic Party) and Ken Rutherford (Maverick).

Wall has not been listed on the Elections Canada website as an official candidate as of Friday. In a Facebook post dated Aug. 18, Green Party provincial leader Naomi Hunter stated she was heading to Battlefords-Lloydminster seeking signatures to get Wall on the ballot.

The People's Party of Canada has announced Terry Sieben is running for their party in Battlefords-Lloydminster, but his nomination has not yet been officially confirmed by Elections Canada. The filing deadline for all candidates is 2 p.m. on Aug. 30.
