A firearms incident about 10 kilometers north of North Battleford has resulted in an arrest by Battlefords RCMP.
A 76-year-old male from the Battlefords was later arrested without incident in connection to the case.
The events transpired at around 4:30 p.m. Friday. RCMP responded to a call of a firearms complaint at an acreage. Witnesses there reported driving into a yard as a male exited a house and fired a round from a long-barreled firearm. The witnesses left the area and went to the Battlefords RCMP detachment to report the incident.
The parties involved are known to one another. The firearm was not pointed towards the witnesses. Nearby residents were evacuated from the area at the time.
