REDBERRY LAKE, Sask. — The Redberry Lake Regional Park has received $72,300 in funding from the government of Canada to support the purchase of new playground equipment for the main beach at Redberry Lake.
The addition to the park will revitalize the main beach area replacing equipment that is more than 30 years old, according the park authorites. The funding is provided by Prairies Economic Development Canada (PrairiesCan) through the Canada Community Revitalization Fund (CCRF). The grant accounts for over 60 per cent of the project’s anticipated total cost of approximately $112,300. The remainder of the project was funded through donations, sponsorships and fundraising.
“Redberry Lake Regional Park is grateful for the support from the federal government through PrairiesCan and the CCRF fund to replace our playground equipment.” said Redberry Lake Regional Park board chair Eugene Sass. “A playground is essential to attracting visitors to a regional park, and the piece that was missing for Redberry Lake.”
Installation of the playground is set for September. Following that will be a grand opening Canada Day weekend 2023.
