extreme cold weather bundle up
An extreme cold warning is in effect for much of Saskatchewan.

THE BATTLEFORDS — Environment Canada issued another extreme cold warning Tuesday evening, and it remains for most of the southern half of Saskatchewan, with the exception of the southwest corner of the province, and the very far north.

Cold, arctic air spread over the Prairies overnight as a ridge of high pressure is tracking through the region.

Overnight lows near -30 C, combined with winds up to 15 kilometres per hour continue to give extreme wind chill values near -40 C throughout much of Saskatchewan Wednesday morning.

These extreme wind chills will moderate slightly Wednesday, but will return again Wednesday night for several regions.

A system moving through the area on Thursday will push warmer air through the region and bring an end to the extreme cold warnings.
