The Town of Battleford had struck a committee that has spent the last several days investigating an ethics complaint filed in February.

BATTLEFORD - An ethics complaint filed against a member of Battleford town council has been resolved, according to the town.

At their regular council meeting Monday, Mayor Ames Leslie reported the matter has been resolved under the town’s Code of Conduct and Ethics Bylaw.

The ethics complaint had been filed Feb. 7 and an investigation team was struck under the bylaw. It was noted they had met on a weekly basis to deal with the complaint.

The investigation is now officially closed. Details of what the complaint was about and who was involved were not made public.

“I think the investigation went fairly,” reported the town’s CAO Ash Alam.

Council passed a resolution acknowledging the matter had been investigated and successfully resolved. Council members thanked the investigation team for moving quickly and resolving the matter.

“I commend the investigation team. It is never easy," said Mayor Ames Leslie.
