Drivers killed, passengers injured in collision near MacDowall

Two people were pronounced dead at the scene of the collision.

MacDOWALL — The drivers of a two trucks that collided Tuesday have died and two passengers, including a child, were seriously injured in a collision responded to by Prince Albert RCMP.

On July 26, at approximately 8:40 p.m., RCMP responded to the collision of two pickup trucks on Highway 11 south of MacDowall.

The driver and the sole occupant of the northbound pickup truck, a 16-year-old female was pronounced deceased at the scene.

There were three people in the southbound pickup truck. The driver of the southbound pickup truck, a 46-year-old male was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Police say the adult male passenger was transported to hospital with what are described as serious injuries. A child under the age of five was transported to hospital by STARS with what are described as serious injuries. Police do not have an update on their condition.

Rosthern RCMP along with Prince Albert Fire Department, Rosthern Fire and Rescue and MacDowall Volunteer Fire Department were all on scene.

Highway 11 was closed during initial investigation but has since re-opened. Prince Albert RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
