The dilapidated property at 1102 -106th St. has come down.

The demolition work took place on Tuesday morning, June 29. The city reported 11th Avenue from 106th to 107th Street was closed with no through traffic between 8 a.m. and noon that day.

The demolition happened a day later than expected, as the city had earlier sent out a news release stating that the road was going to be closed Monday afternoon. But the demolition did proceed the next day.

The demolition ends a long saga for the property. It has been subject to numerous public health orders over the years and the city issued a demolition order on the property in August 2020.

That demolition order cited numerous building deficiencies, and city council was also concerned about a frequent police presence at the venue.

The demolition order was appealed a couple of times, but was finally upheld last month at a meeting of city council, clearing the way for the demolition to happen.
