A couple arrested by the RCMP gang unit had more court appearances in North Battleford Provincial Court.
Cassandra Fox, 24, appeared on Dec. 16 but the matter was adjourned to Jan. 6, 2021, to enter a plea and elect how she wants to be tried.
Jonathan Swiftwolfe, of Moosomin First Nation, had a bail hearing on Dec. 10 but the hearing was adjourned until Jan. 6, 2021.
Swiftwolfe was arrested Dec. 6 after multiple RCMP detachments joined forces to find him. He was considered armed and dangerous and police issued a public warning. RCMP said Swiftwolfe has 鈥淲estside鈥 tattooed on the side of his face and neck. Westside Outlaws is a dangerous and violent street gang.
Swiftwolfe was wanted on charges of assault, uttering threats, several weapons-related offences, and flight from police.
RCMP located him on Dec. 6 at about 6:30 p.m. near Sweet Grass First Nation. Fox was with him. She was wanted on numerous warrants including assault with a weapon and failure to comply with a release order.
When police arrested Swiftwolfe, they found a loaded firearm in the vehicle within his reach.
The charges against Swiftwolfe and Fox haven鈥檛 been proven in court.
Moosomin First Nation is about 22 kilometres north of North Battleford. Sweetgrass First Nation is about 35 kilometres west of North Battleford.
