LLOYDMINSTER The Crown and defence are in discussions in the case against an Onion Lake man facing weapons and drug charges, the court heard Monday.
Federal Crown Vic Findlater asked the Lloydminster court for an adjournment in 35-year-old Courtlin Littlewolfe’s matter and Judge Kim Young adjourned it to Feb. 28.
Littlewolfe is facing charges in Lloydminster, Sask., and Alberta.
In Saskatchewan he is charged with two counts of flight from police, two counts of assault of a peace officer, three counts of obstruction of a peace officer, dangerous driving, seven counts of failing to appear in court, six counts of driving while prohibited, two firearm offences, and trafficking drugs.
In Alberta he is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of a restricted firearm, unsafe storage of a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, obstruction of a peace officer, identity fraud, flight from police, dangerous operation of a vehicle, and driving while prohibited.
Littlewolfe was arrested in Onion Lake Cree Nation (OLCN) Jan. 16, 2021, days after allegedly fleeing from police in Lloydminster after crashing his vehicle on icy roads during a police pursuit.
When police searched the vehicle they found more than $47,000 in drugs, including methamphetamine, cocaine, and heroin. In addition, police found more than $8,000 in Canadian currency, a handgun, ammunition, a knife, and red paisley bandanas generally worn by Westside Outlaws street gang based out of OLCN.
The charges against Littlewolfe haven’t been proven in court.
