It is official: the Capitol Annex has announced it is reopening for movies beginning May 28.

The Capitol had closed on April 8, due to concerns about rising COVID-19 variants in the province as well as difficulties their staff had encountered in trying to get customers to comply with the pandemic restrictions in place.

But now, with vaccinations in full swing and restrictions being eased, the Capitol is going to be open again for movies for a few days per week.

According to their Facebook page they will be playing movies on Friday evenings, Saturday matinees and evening, Sunday matinees only, and Tuesday evenings.

The cinemas will also still have the maximum of 30 spectators per theatre until further notice, and all social distancing and sanitized protocols will continue. Tickets will also still need to be purchased at the theatre until further notice.

The movies scheduled to be shown have not been confirmed as of yet; once those are confirmed the Capitol will let the public know.
