A Prince Albert man pleaded guilty to manslaughter for the death of 27-year-old Cody McAdam.
Bryce Bird, 20, had pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder in November 2020 and a trial date was to be set in Prince Albert Court of Queen’s Bench. On May 25, however, Bird pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter.
A badly injured McAdam was found in an alley in the 200 Block of 12 Street East in Prince Albert on Feb. 9, 2019. McAdam was taken to a Saskatoon hospital where he died on Feb. 16, 2019.
Bird was arrested in March 2020 and charged with second-degree murder.
Bird will be sentenced in Prince Albert Court of Queen’s Bench on May 28.
