The North Battleford B.E.A.T.S. Encounter group have announced their latest video release.
The video features Canadian Celebrity outdoorsman Les Stroud, aka SURVIVORMAN. According to their news release, his experiences of isolation and self isolation in the wilderness allow him a unique perspective on the current pandemic. It can be found at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uJHPxUAiD9I
The B.E.A.T.S. Encounter – which stands for Building Expression and Awareness through Theatre and Sound – has in past years shown their video releases in a red-carpet presentation at the Dekker Centre involving all the youth participants. But they have had to change plans in the world of COVID-19, meeting remotely to share their work online. Â
Each year’s program is built around a theme and the one this year is Check Your Connection, developed only a month before the pandemic shutdowns happened.
The program has partnerships with Living Sky School Division, Sakewew High School, Concern for Youth and Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Battlefords, and has received generous donations from organizations including 100 Women who Care.
