An Edmonton man has been charged with several drug offences after being stopped by the RCMP in the Maidstone area.
RCMP report that 44-year-old Sean Ingram from Edmonton is charged with the following:
Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking;
Possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking;
Possession of illicit Cannabis;
Possession of proceeds of crime, contrary to Sec. 354(a) of the Criminal Code.
Ingram is scheduled to make his first provincial court appearance in Lloydminster on April 27 at 10 a.m.
Police report that Feb. 9 at approximately 7:30 p.m., a vehicle travelling east on Highway 16 near Maidstone was stopped by the Saskatchewan RCMP Traffic Services Unit for speeding and swerving over the shoulder line.
The lone male driver of the vehicle was spoken to by police. During their conversation a substance suspected to be cocaine was seen in plain view of police. The driver was then arrested under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
A search of the vehicle revealed approximately two kilograms of suspected methamphetamine, 104 grams of suspected cocaine, illicit cannabis and Canadian currency. According to police, the amount of methamphetamine seized could result in approximately 20,000 doses for an average user.
