Matters for Cody Caron were heard in provincial court this week, with lawyers appearing by phone.

NORTH BATTLEFORD - Matters for a man facing trafficking and possession charges have been adjourned to next week in North Battleford Provincial Court.

The date of Jan. 27 at 11 a.m. has been set as the return date for Cody Caron, 38. Lawyers in the case appeared by phone before Judge Murray Pelletier Friday morning. Caron is remanded by consent to the Jan. 27 date.

Caron faces charges of trafficking in a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance in connection to his most recent arrest in North Battleford. He made his first appearance in North Battleford Provincial Court Jan. 17.

According to the RCMP, police were called to a business on Railway Avenue in North Battleford on the morning of Jan. 14 following a report that a customer had brought in a box of parts which, upon opening, contained hundreds of hydromorphone pills. Caron was located and arrested soon after.

According to the RCMP, he had in his possession suspected LSD, methamphetamine and crack. The charges are yet to be proven in a court of law.
