4th person charged in death of Byron Bear makes first appearance in P.A. court

Daniel Oliver was arrested at a home in the 1700 block of 15 Street West early in the morning on March 3 and charged with second-degree murder.

PRINCE ALBERT – A fourth person charged in the death of 27-year-old Byron Lee Bear made his first appearance in Prince Albert court Friday.

Thirty-one-year-old Daniel Oliver was arrested at a home in the 1700 block of 15 Street West early in the morning on March 3 and charged with second-degree murder.

Oliver is scheduled to appear in court again on March 25.

Also charged with second-degree murder are Riley Prineau, Raine Farrow, and Kyle Burns.

Bear’s remains were found on Feb. 10, 2022, in a rural area near Hague. Prince Albert Police say that Bear was reported missing Dec. 7, 2021, by his family, and thought to be involved in a serious assault in the early morning of Dec. 6, 2021, at a residence in the 300 block of 9 Street East in Prince Albert. Police say that they responded at about 4 a.m. on Dec. 6, 2021, to reports of gunshots. When they arrived they found evidence of a serious assault but no victim.

The RCMP Forensic Identification Section, Major Crime Unit, Search and Rescue Unit, and K9 Services assisted Prince Albert Police in the investigation

The charges against Oliver, Prineau, Burns, and Farrow haven’t been proven in court.
