The federal government and the province have announced joint funding going towards 30 projects in the province.
Maryam Monsef, Federal Minister for Women and Gender Equality and Rural Economic Development, and provincial Government Relations Minister Don McMorris, made the announcement Tuesday.
Over $13.6 million in joint funding is being committed for 30 projects in the province, with the feds investing $6.7 million through their Investing in Canada plan while the province is committing $6.9 million.
The 30 projects include 13 bridge improvement programs in several rural municipalities, 11 water and wastewater projects and six recreation infrastructure projects.
鈥淭hese projects will benefit various communities by creating jobs leading up to and during construction, along with improving local networks, water and waste water systems, recreation facilities, and protecting the environment once completed,鈥 McMorris said in an address to the Municipalities of Saskatchewan convention on Tuesday.
Projects receiving funding include the sewage lift station upgrade for the village of Borden, water pumphouse and reservoir upgrades in Dalmeny, decommissioning of REACT waste management facility in Humboldt, upgrade of the veteran鈥檚 hall at Beardy鈥檚 reserve, and water treatment plant upgrades in communities including Torquay, Consul, Theodore and Holdfast.
