Oriol Dancer is an artist mentee taking part in the Creative Partnerships program through the Chapel Gallery. She is a multi-media artist, currently living in Medstead, who uses the influences of nature and the world around her to inform and inspire her art.
Dancer has produced a number of three-dimensional works using items found in her natural environment. The piece profiled here was originally an elementary school science text book. She has and continues to observe, respond and interact with the natural elements in shaping the next story for this book to tell.
She is using the experience with the mentorship program to expand her technological skills. She has also started to use new media to understand art and how it might be created in a different way. Dancer is one of eight artist mentees taking part in this program. More of her work can be seen at the artists' studio on the second floor of City Hall.
