Following is a release by the Saskatchewan Craft Council:

Dimensions is a biennial, juried, touring exhibition of contemporary craft organized by the Saskatchewan Craft Council (SCC) for over 40 years. Dimensions encourages Saskatchewan artists to push themselves creatively and technically. Selected works are unique, incorporating individual expression that transcend technique; works have content as well as achieving technical and creative excellence.

This year, 130 works were submitted by 83 artists including 21 emerging artists, providing an impressive assortment of fine craft. Our Jurors, David Freeman and Jane Kidd, were tasked with the challenge of selecting just 35 pieces for the exhibition and deciding which pieces might merit an award.

Dimensions jurying was an online experience in 2021. While the SCC has always prioritized in-person jurying for this project, the health and safety of the jurors, SCC staff, and the nearly 100 artists who enter Dimensions are of utmost concern.

Jurying Dimensions online is a new experience for our artists and jurors. The Saskatchewan Craft Council is grateful for the continued support of this important project from Creative Saskatchewan and the City of Saskatoon. We thank the participants for adapting to the unique obstacles change can bring. Regardless of the challenges, this 40-year tradition carries on as the only open, juried, touring exhibition of contemporary craft in the province. Help us celebrate the many facets of Saskatchewan fine craft.
