SRC hosts food bank drive

Maidstone High School SRC is holding a food bank drive. This enables students to donate any canned or packaged goods to families that struggle to put a meal on the table.

Maidstone High School SRC is holding a food bank drive. This enables students to donate any canned or packaged goods to families that struggle to put a meal on the table. A competition with juniors versus seniors will determine who will bring the most canned goods to the school.

Dec. 12, the Maidstone School Community Council held an afternoon of fun and games in the high school and elementary school gymnasiums. From 3 to 5 p.m., the community was invited to compete in volleyball, floor hockey, basketball and other activities.

Dec. 9, Legion members recognized the winners for this year's Remembrance Day competition. Categories included poem, essay and poster. The winners were: Jacquie Donovan, Brock Weston, Anne Nerbas, Andrew Boyachek, Morgan Hanson, Sarah Baldwin, Celyn Elder, Angie Boggust, Teagan Pegg, Sarah Graham, Paige McFadyen, Jay Sutherland, Carlee Sparkes, Courtney Gerbig, Morgan Doepker and Jordyn Hope.

This Friday is the last day of school before Christmas holidays! At 9:30 a.m. there will be an awards ceremony, to honour all of the sports teams and clubs that have been active since the beginning of September. At 11:30 a.m. our Christmas feast will begin. Parents are invited at a fee of 5$ and if you are interested in coming to the feast please call Kerry so she will be able to know how many parents are attending. Have a Merry Christmas!
