Its goal is to help beautify the city and spur community pride and environmental responsibility among its citizens with help from volunteers and residents in general, following the guidance of the national Communities in Bloom Program.
The program guides improvement in are categories: tidiness, environmental action, heritage conservation, urban forestry, landscape, turf and groundcovers, floral displays and community involvement.

Communities that register for the program are assessed by judges who visit in July or August, evaluating those communities on the criteria listed above.
Saturday, May 28 will be CIB Proclamation Day in North Battleford.
On that day, the local CIB committee will introduce themselves and the CIB concept to the community at a downtown location. Plans call for a planting ceremony as well.
