The Maidstone Gully Multiple 4-H Club held our April general meeting April 4. At our meeting we discussed activities from the past month and upcoming events in this month.

On March 12, we held our annual Cowboy Poetry Night. Marg Ulik, Louise Lundburg, Del Nordel and Keith Mitchell were our entertainers for the night. The crowd loved them and they did a spectacular job. Our 4-H club made a delicious supper as well as performing two entertaining skits. It was a fantastic success that greatly benefitted our 4-H club.

In March our senior member, Rylea Eggeson, attended Regional Public Speaking. He presented an amazing speech on the humorous events that occur on the farm. He unfortunately did not place, but presented a terrific speech and did very well representing our club.

Our 4-H club was recently given two great honours. First, our General Leader, Mary-Ann Carson, was inducted into the 4-H Hall of Fame. Secondly, we entered our Club Display in the AGM Club Display competition and placed second. We moved onto the People's Choice Awards but unfortunately did not win.

This weekend we are very excited to send many of our members from the beef project and other projects to the Nelson Lumber Grooming and Judging Clinic. The members attending learn how to properly judge and groom animals, as well as gaining hands-on experience and practice. It is a great learning experience that we are proud to send our members to.
