The Maidstone Museum members would like to thank everyone who donated articles and all those who worked at the Silent Auction. This annual event is held in conjunction with the Trade Fair, this year held April 2 and 3 in the Maidstone Arena. This is the museum's biggest fund raising event of the year and was a huge success financially. The good weather helped attendance, which reached over 1,000 people in the two days. The museum had a decorated cake for a raffle, which was won by Mary Bray and the museum's door prize was won by Byron Reeds. The complementary roast beef supper for the vendors on Saturday evening was well attended and was catered by the museum members.
