The Chapel Gallery is currently hosting an installation by Saskatchewan artist Crystal Howie. "Titles Tell Tales" explores the tensions between our uncontrolled natures and the systems that attempt to manage us. This collection of three-dimensional pieces incorporates myths and folk lore to explain the actions of the characters depicted inside the structures. There are families, friends, strangers, humans, animals and other characters involved in this presentation.
Howie is a visual and performance artist who was commissioned to create "The Workers Mural" at the Regina Union Centre. She uses her art to give voice to ideas about community and social change. She has studied fine art at the University of Regina and continues to expand her skill and challenge the status quo.
Plan to attend the reception for this exhibition Saturday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m. at the Chapel Gallery. Meet the artist and hear her reflections about the inspiration and production of this collection. The exhibition runs until Oct. 17.
