Happy New Year to all readers.
With the new year comes a new look that is admired and appreciated. North Battleford Housing Authority has contracted with G.B. Enterprises to remove the aging wallpaper from the hallways. It is being replaced with paint of a soft tan shade resulting in a clean appearance without glare and is easy on the eyes.
Jan. 2, Helen Munn celebrated her birthday with a gathering of nearly 60 people. Children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews all proceeded to make this a truly happy day. Some folks came from Saskatooon, Red Deer and Smithers, B.C. Others were local. The next day we enjoyed birthday treats from the lounge. For this we thank Helen and wish her many happy returns of this day.
As always, a warm welcome to all new residents. May they feel free to join in all the tournaments and fun events we offer.
Joyce Milnthorp enjoyed the holiday season at Moose Jaw visiting her daughter Kathie Martell and family. She treasured her quality time spent with a young grandson who is quite ill at this time.
Heartfelt sympathy to Lillian Leduc on the loss of her husband recently. Also to the family in the loss of their father, Albert Leduc.
We, unfortunately, have a number of folks who are fighting much illness this winter. A speedy return to good health is wished for each one.
An enjoyable shuffleboard tournament took place Jan 26 and 27. Many of the games were unique with final rocks scoring within a millimeter of each other. Able referees were Alice Horn, Sophie Nykiforuk and Madeleine Blouin. Joan Bannerman kept score, took care of the board and was called upon to sub. We appreciate every bit of her hard work.
