BUH Foundation's Festival of Trees is in its 15th year and again promises to be an entertaining, exciting three days from Thursday, Nov. 25 to Saturday, Nov. 27.
The festival of trees hosts a number of events with the elegant "Under the Lights" Gala Evening Friday, Nov. 26. This semi-formal event seats 300 guests in the beautifully decorated Gold Ridge Centre in North Battleford. Dinner guests will experience a delectable three course gourmet meal prepared by Gold Eagle Casino's executive chef Jesse Bosman, and served by Gold Ridge Centre's staff. The dinner is based on a "fin and feather" theme, which will feature local Saskatchewan and international fare.
Live entertainment is the infamous Don't Mind Us Improv Comedy Duo Mark Schweighardt and Lee Bells, who are experienced comedians. Gala evening guests will love Don't Mind Us for their improvised and spontaneous comedy, their intelligent, tasteful style, their interaction with audience members and their ability to customize and tailor their show to the group they are performing for - which begs the question, which guests they will choose for their comedy routines?
Fundraising efforts for the evening will be supported through live and silent auctions, as well as the ongoing bidding for the seasonally decorated trees, outdoor displays and new to 2010, "tablescapes." Co-Chairs of gala evening, Corinne Bernier-Delainey, Diane Dunsmore and Celine Comfort, say they are excited about the auction packages they have garnered, which include a round trip for two in a VIA Rail Canada double berth sleeper from Saskatoon to Vancouver, B.C., including a hotel stay in Vancouver. Also available to the highest bidder is a trip for two to the award winning Dakota Dunes Golf Links that includes meals, golf package and transportation while golfing exclusively with a golf pro. A football fan could be taking home a Saskatchewan Roughrider Christmas village.
Crown Cab is supporting BUH Foundation's Festival of Trees with their promotion of the "safe ride home" initiative. For any donation to BUH Foundation, Crown Cab will transport guests to or from the gala evening.
Proceeds from BUH Foundation's Festival of Trees have been allocated to purchase a fetal monitor and doppler for BUH's Women Health and Birthing Centre. These vital pieces of equipment will ensure the health of both mother and baby during the birthing process.
BUH Foundation's board of directors expresses gratitude for support and contributions from local businesses and individuals ensuring the success of the 2010 festival of trees.
