Mervin 4-H Beef Club has had a busy year.

Members started the year with a Trees for Life fundraiser at the Mervin Hope Hall Nov. 27. The barbecue beef burger lunch was a success.

Dec. 12, members met for their annual weigh day at the farm of Harry and Jean Lake. The cold weather did not discourage members from coming out and enjoying a potluck lunch together after.

Dec. 17, the club held its annual Christmas hamper raffle at the Turtleford Tiger game. Winners were: Joe McMurphy, Edam; Lillian Banks, Turtleford; Stella Jacobson, Livelong; Gary Blanchette, Edam and Kay Lake, Lloydminster.

Jan 31, the club's annual speech night was held at the Turtleford Library. Members all gave great speeches. Heidi Potter and Brent Kean were judges for the event.

Feb. 16, the club went to Lloydminster for some fun and tours. Toured were VT Feeders and the Marteniuk Deer Farm. Members found both tours interesting and educational. Members also stopped by Gopher Hill Paint Ball for a little paint ball fun.

April 25, the club held its annual tea and bake sale at the Mervin Complex.

Mervin 4-H Club has received a wonderful gift from the estate of Michelle Bellanger, who was a dedicated 4-H member, leader and parent of the club. A much needed shed to house numerous 4-H supplies has been donated and will be placed on the Turtleford Agricultural Grounds.

June 3, the club hosts achievement day. It will be held on the Turtleford Agricultural Grounds. The show starts at 3 p.m. and there will be a roast beef supper to follow. The club encourages everyone to come out and enjoy the show.
