The RM of Glenside Recreation Board held a meeting March 7 at the home of Tracy Gardiner of Spinney Hill. The final cheques and receipts from donations made to end the 2010 program were filed. Application has been sent and approved for the 2011 funds to start up again in September. Members are still looking for some new ideas on craft projects or other activities for those who are interested. Otherwise the money will be donated to local groups that can use it.

The recreation board is still trying to get better and more interest from the southern part of the RM. Another board member is also needed from that area. So far, we have only the one and would like to have two, at least.

The next meeting will be held Sept. 5 at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Linda Hardenne of Lizard Lake.

SaskPower service was out for a few hours last week. The problem was soon corrected and back to normal until the next time.

The rest of the country just went through another time change and it is good to hear we will remain the same as it has been for a good number of years. Why change it again? We all agreed not to do the change back and forth spring and fall some time ago. At that time, we all went on daylight time and have stayed there ever since. The rest of the country did not agree to be the same. So, let them do all the changing.

The white-tailed deer population has exploded as some fields are loaded with herds of 50 or even more. One side of the road has cattle grazing to dot the field, while the other side is dotted with as many deer, or more. When startled, they all start running in all directions. Drivers have to be carful as they can quickly pop up on the road. They just don't care which way they go.

Our weather is still not settled. Old Man Winter's grip just seems to hold on with cool winds along with light snowfall. Spring is close by, however.
